This former butcher’s guildhall in the heart of Constance, built in 1454, houses well-preserved rooms and exhibits from the period of its construction.
The exhibition includes notable artworks from the Lake Constance region, and also explores the Hecker uprising of 1848, the occasionally difficult relationship between the Swabians and the Swiss, and the fate of victims of persecution during the Third Reich.
The informal courtyard and the museum café are perfect for whiling away an hour or two.
