A paradise for food lovers – the vegetable stalls, farm shops and general and delicatessen markets will delight anyone who loves fresh produce, and they offer a whistle-stop tour of the local culinary treasures. Throughout the year, the region’s markets promise a feast for the senses. The Konschtanzer Schätze market, for example, offers delicatessen, live music and fairtrade products. On market days and evenings, the stalls sell fresh produce from the region. And in winter, the delicious aromas of the Christmas markets – held right by the water – attract visitors in droves …

  • Constance’s Christmas market by the lake is the largest in the region. 100,000 lights, around 150 stalls, the amazing 360° panoramic ice bar aboard the Christmas ship, artisan crafts and much more await visitors during the festive season.

    The charming light displays of this popular Christmas market stretch from the traditional stalls in the harbour to the illuminated stars of the old quarter.

  • Varying deli markets showcase food and drink from the region where Germany borders Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The region’s culinary diversity can be explored at the many themed markets in Constance, where the focus is on aspects such as organic produce and sustainability, local delights and fine food.

    You will find excellent wines, such as spätburgunder and müller-thurgau, freshly baked bread and home-made dips, regional truffles and cheese from Thurgau, plus a wide range of healthy products from the Lake Constance region.

  • Fresh regional produce from Constance, Reichenau Island and the surrounding areas can be tried and tasted at the weekly food markets. The stallholders extend a warm welcome to their customers every Tuesday and Friday on St. Stephans-Platz square, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays on St. Gebhard-Platz square.

    From March until October the market times are 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from November until February 7.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Every thursday there is also a weekly food market in the parking lot of the steakhouse "Heuboden" in the district "Wollmatingen" from 7.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Konstanzer Flohmarkt 2018

    The flea market in Constance features around 1,000 stalls and is the largest in the region where Germany borders Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. A 24-hour event extending over 9km, it also spills over the Swiss border to Kreuzlingen. Every spring, more than 80,000 visitors from around the world flock to Constance to grab a bargain, haggle with the vendors and generally enjoy themselves.

    The cross-border flea market is a unique ecperience, so make sure you come along to experience the Constance lifestyle.
